Displaying Coins

Lucite Panel Display

This panel will fit any half-dollar sized coin and will stand on its own for display.  Obviously thinner coins are easiest but this single-coin panel will even work with fat coins.

The panel is thick enough to stand on its own and yet will protect the coin even if dropped.

My wife made this one for her English Language class. The goal was to enable the coin to be passed around yet to make the panel too big to be easily "pocketed".

Panel Disassembled

There are two lucite panels held by 4 brass nuts & bolts which can be opened and the coin placed inside. There is a center "washer" of black cardboard (now faded) and other cardboard to prevent the coin from being squashed.

The coin is in a mylar (non-vinyl) sleeve which further protects it and deters it from sliding around too much.

Multi-Coin Lucite DisplayPanel

These are more sophisticated panels which have a center black lucite layer.

These panels uses the archival hard plastic coin containers to mount the coins inside the panel.  These containers are airtight and are good storage just by themselves.

Unfortunately I cannot find find any good coin supply vendors on the web
